And this one:

Apparently, drug use is on the rise (first link) and long term use of pot can lead to psychosis (second link).

| IF YOU SAY YOU'RE CATHOLIC, YOU NEED TO START BEING CATHOLIC [Rachel Watkins] |
| 3/2/2010 |
And what is so wrong with that??
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/Religion/post/2010/03/gay-marriage-catholic-health-care-/1
If you read the article it brings up the issue of employees of the Catholic Church who are seemingly surprised and angry that the Church won't support their chosen lifestyle (i.e. insurance for their partner, birth control, etc.).
I can't help but think that being surprised and/or angry about any of these issues would be like being surprised that upon being hired by Hooters you ask for a pair of longer shorts and looser top.
You really should just know some things are the way they are with certain employers! Is that so hard? |

| TIME FOR SPAIN'S KING TO STEP UP [Rachel Watkins] |
| 3/3/2010 |
As Belgium's did, not so long ago -
http://www.christiannewswire.com/news/9143413195.html
As the article states, King Baudoin of Belgium abdicated his throne in 1990, long enough to make it clear that he did not support the country's decision to allow abortion.
It is time for King Juan Carlos to do the same.
(I am proud of my Belgian history - on my dad's side. Both of my grandparents came from the Ghent area in Belgium (the Flemish side.)

| CONFESSION TIME - HELL IS REAL [Rachel Watkins] |
| 3/3/2010 |
When I was younger, oh, just a few years back, I used to believe that it was really hard to get to hell.
Honestly, I thought that only people who were really awful would end up there. Those who not only broke one of the Ten Commandments but stomped up and down on them and laughed as they did so.
I thought that, for the most part, most people in the world were decent folks just trying to get through. Not anymore!
I have had the chance to encounter some amazingly mean, ignorant, and caustic people out there in the world who really do hate - I'll make a list here: God, Jesus, Christians, Catholics, the Pope, heterosexuals and more....
Really hate us. Really.
These folks are not just impartial, they don't take the "well, I am not one (Catholic, Christian, whatever) but it's okay if they are" attitude but the "You must die, and die now attitude".
My Pollyanna view of life is slipping as I have read some really awful, vitriolic rants on any number of websites which allow comments. Usually in response to such headlines as "The Pope is asking Catholics to be Catholic" (www.usatoday.com)
To add to this jading of my spirit is the realization that these very same people, on this very same internet could be accessing some great sites that would tell them about Jesus, His love, His plan for them and His mercy.
Pondering both of these realities in my head - 1. people are out there typing and sending some really awful lies about God and His Church and 2. their refusal to find out the truth means that, unless they repent, they're going to hell.
Long gone are the days when the majority of the people of the world could say they've 'never' heard of Jesus. With the internet, He's out there more than ever.
As a result, I can only conclude that it easier than ever to get into Hell and more folks are going to find themselves there unless something is done.
But what? |

| DID YOU RECENTLY HAVE A HOME BIRTH? [Rachel Watkins] |
| 3/4/2010 |
If you did you helped them increase slightly -

I know several moms who have done this and loved it. I was a hospital birth mom for many reasons but would fully support any family that wants to choose otherwise.

| SARAH PALIN [Rachel Watkins] |
| 3/4/2010 |
I was excited when she was first added to the ticket but then the hype didn't seem to match the package. She, honestly, lacked some 'thing' for me.
Of course, her stand for life was clear but....
Apparently she's working on a book on virtue - am I awful to think that she's just attempting to be relevant long enough to stage a political foray? And am I awful for not wanting to support any attempt should it come? |
